The National Association of Waterfront Employers (NAWE), located in Washington, D.C., is seeking a motivated college student (21 or older) for a summer internship running from June 1 through July 31, 2026. This hybrid internship offers hands-on experience in the U.S. maritime industry and exposure to the legislative process. Interns will assist with organizing the office, researching and analyzing legislative and policy proposals impacting the maritime sector, providing administrative support, and helping plan NAWE’s premier event—its Annual Meeting. Interns will also have the unique opportunity to attend meetings on Capitol Hill and participate in special projects as needed.
This position is based in Washington, D.C., and interns are expected to work in the office four out of five days per week. The internship offers ample networking opportunities with industry leaders and policymakers. Applicants should be motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about maritime policy and advocacy.
